Security
The amount of time you normally have to act/respond to a threat.
In a tense situation, emotions can flare quickly and violence can explode in a heart beat. If someone should charge at you with intent to harm, you have a short amount of time to respond.

Air
The amount of time to obtain breathable air or hold your breath.
Let’s be honest. Not everyone can hold their breath for 3 minutes, it’s more like 2 minutes but you get the idea. If water is filling around you, carbon monoxide in the air or volcanic ash. You have little time to waste.

Hours
The amount of time before you will need some form of shelter in extreme conditions.
