The goal here is to filter some of the information out there and give you the basics. Most forums on this topic focus on bush craft preparation, I will attempt to approach this from an urban/sun urban point of view. Don’t worry, we are not a cult, I’ve sPent a good part of my life preparing for the worst of times. COVID and the 2021 weather in Texas has already made my efforts well worth it. I will attempt to condense all the information I’ve accumulated and share only the essentials with you. It’s fine if you don’t agree, but at least consider it.

We will cover different strategies and techniques for different scenarios, gear, basic needs and planning.

I can’t say it enough. Knowledge is the best preparation. Even if you can’t collect the items you need, at least know what you should be doing.

When should I start to prepare?

Most of us don’t wait until we have an accident or need to take a trip to a doctor to buy medical, life, home or auto insurance. Most of us buy insurance for that “just in case” situation. This is the same idea.

It does not take that much effort to be one of the “haves” rather than being a “have not” when it counts.

How do I start to prepare?

Start slowly. You don’t want to dump a lot of cash in items without completely understanding the benefit. Canned goods are easy to accumulate but have limitations. Water needs treatment if stored for a long period of time.

Do a little research before you start to stockpile, Start slowly and enjoy the ride.
